Often kids do not understand the importance of education. They are unaware of the implications of what will happen when they do not concentrate on their education. Kids can’t put to context why they would need education. They live in a protected world. Their needs are provided to by their parents. So why education?

If kids realize the value of education, they will study harder and smarter. How does one make them realize this? You might have seen so many adults say “Oh God! I wish I could studied better at college or school”. This sentiment clearly expresses their willingness to go back to school and make amends to the way they studied. So many of us would want to go back to school and fare better. But it is not possible.

As a parent you have your task cut out to make your kids realize why they are getting educated. One sure shot successful approach is to get them to do summer jobs. When kids start working, they are pushed to a different culture. They will become much more serious. Because working is serious business. They will realize this soon. When you make your kids do summer jobs, you also give them the potential to earn their own money. They will now realize how hard it is to earn money. They will also realize the importance of skill versus the money.

When kids realize that the better skills they have, the better their prospects of earning money, they will take education seriously. Working creates a sense of competition. The same is with kids. They will decide what they want to become.
